‘World Environment Day celebrations’

Art and Craft Eco-workshops supported by Hemendra Kothari Foundation, Dehejia Endowment for Krishna Art and Gulestan and Rustom Billimoria Charity Trust.

On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2011 we are organizing a fun weekend of eco-friendly activities and workshops to increase awareness of our natural heritage and highlight the importance of protecting our natural surroundings. While there are ‘paid’ workshops such as for absolutely recession-busting rates, there are also FREE activities open to all to enjoy.

1) 3rd June 2011: Organic Gardening

Observe the process of vermi composting and other simple composting techniques easy to practice in your own garden. (registration required)

Workshop timings: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Maximum participants – 30
Age-group – Open to all
Fees – Free of charge

2) 4th June 2011 – Magic from Castaways

Make interesting things out of scrap. Change the look of the item you’re about to throw away and put it to good use with the help of a fine arts expert.

Workshop timings: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Maximum participants – 25
Age-group – Open to all
Fees – `100/- per person

3) 5th June 2011 – Papier Mache

Put waste paper to artistic use by making beautiful penstands, jewellery boxes, animals and birds and various other interesting articles of papier mache.

Workshop timings: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Maximum participants – 25
Age-group – Open to all
Fees – `50/- per person

To register for above activities, kindly download the Registration Form and Instructions Sheet. Please read the Instructions sheet carefully.

The form shall be submitted at the Museum with the fees at the Central Office, First Floor, Main Museum Building.

There will also be other FREE activities on 5th June such as Tattoo counter, Warli painting and Paper recycling for you to try out!
